Comfortable, and amazing views.
 Food is comforting – like home cooking. I had a lunch of soup and sandwich, with a fair bit of choice in how my sandwich was made – on my choice of baked-right-there breads. This place IS a bakery; desserts are rather sinful.
And, rare in this part of the Cabot Trail, the Clucking Hen is licensed. I found the staff friendly and helpful, and I noticed that locals are frequent visitors.
Oh, and they offer free wi-fi – really helpful in a place where cell service is extremely spotty! Probably the best part of the experience is enjoying the glorious ocean views. If the weather is right, sit in the screened porch to get the best of the views without the wind and insects of an island summer.

“Really great food”  We were staying down the road from here and ended up eating breakfast here everyday. What blew me away was how delicious the supper was. I had fish and mashed potato which were scrumptious. The veggies that came with it were seasoned beautifully. Everything was reasonably priced and the staff were so friendly and polite. The last morning we ate here was warm enough to sit out back with a beautiful view of the Gulf of St Lawrence and Sidney just across the water. Also brought home some oat cakes. Ohhhhhhh so good.
